The District Head of Kujama, Mallam Steven Yerima Ibrahim, (Kauran Gbagyi) who was kidnapped two months ago, has been released and is back with his family.
He was kidnapped alongside another person while leaving a reservation centre near Bethel School along the Kaduna-Kujama road in November 2023.
According to Daily Trust, the bandits killed the other person who was kidnapped alongside the district head a few days after their abduction and dropped his corpse at a village along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
The District Head himself confirmed his release when contacted on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Daily Trust gathered from sources close to the district head and the community that he was released a week ago.
“I returned seven days ago, that was last week Wednesday. I thank God for that,” says Mallam Stephen Verima Ibrahim without further comment.
