The driver who attacked a police officer in Kaduna was given 15 strokes by the court.

                  

Mustapha Aminu, a 36-year old motorist, was given 15 canings by a Kaduna Chief Magistrates' Court on Thursday for attacking an on-duty police officer. The defendant, who lives in Ungwan Sanusi, Kaduna, was convicted of striking Sergeant Adamu Maigari, a police officer, in the head with a wooden log. Aminu entered a guilty plea to the accusation. The sentence was designed to help the convicted person fully comprehend the seriousness of his offense, according to Mr. Ibrahim Emmanuel, the magistrate who issued the ruling.
