According to information released by the federal government, Dangote Refinery and other nearby refineries will start receiving crude oil deliveries on October 1, 2024. The announcement was made by Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, on Monday in Abuja during a meeting with the Implementation Committee. A message on the finance ministry's official X (formerly Twitter) page stated that the purpose of the gathering was to assess the status of important projects. In order to ensure a seamless implementation, important roles for stakeholders were outlined at the conference. These included the African Export-Import Bank, Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, and Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
