JUST-IN: Niger Mining Site Accident Claims Death of Two Siblings

An overcrowded mass at an artisanal mining site in Kakaki village, Paikoro local government area, Niger State, has killed two siblings.


LEADERSHIP learned that in order to pay off a debt, the two brothers, Zubairu and Sadiq Ibrahim, visited a gold mining site in the hamlet that had a significant gold resource.


Before the regrettable incident, it was discovered that Zubairu, 25, and Sadiq, 20, had been engaged in long-term artisanal gold mining near the village's bank of a tributary.
