Dr. James Enimi Omietimi has been appointed Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, with President Bola Tinubu's approval. The appointment is valid for a four-year tenure.
Furthermore, for a second consecutive four-year term, Professor Sa'ad Aliyu Ahmed has been reappointed to the position of Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Abuja.
Dr. Omietimi, who was appointed CMD, FMC Yenagoa, has a plethora of expertise to his new position. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Port Harcourt in 1994.
His leadership positions, such as Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and President of the Association of Resident Doctors, along with his expertise in Obstetrics and Gynecology demonstrates his commitment to healthcare leadership in Bayelsa State.
In addition, he has fellow status in both the International College of Surgeons and the West African College of Surgeons.

In the meantime, Dr. Sa'ad Ahmed, a renowned pathology professor at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, is still serving as the Federal Medical Center in Abuja's chief medical director.
Among his many credentials are fellowships from esteemed organizations like the Central East and Southern Africa College of Pathology (South Africa), the International College of Surgeons (USA), the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, and the College of American Pathologists (USA).
President Tinubu conveyed his trust in the recently appointed Chief Medical Directors, anticipating that they would use their knowledge to guarantee the regular provision of superior medical care in compliance with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President's Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, reaffirmed the President's dedication to improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria, which is supported by the appointment of qualified and seasoned individuals to important leadership roles.
