The NLC and TUC's planned strike over their demands for a minimum wage has been deemed unlawful by the federal government.
Negotiations are still underway, thus the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, declared that the strike call is "ineffectual, premature, and illegal". On Monday, June 3, the labor unions declared an indefinite strike in protest of the federal government's unwillingness to raise the minimum wage and undo the increase in electricity tariffs.
