The seasoned Nollywood actress Sola Sobowale has denied rumors that she was arrested and killed for drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia.
The 58-year-old actress responded to the rumors on Tuesday during a live discussion on "Teju Baby Face Show."
Sola Sobowale recalled that many unfavorable articles about her, including one that said she was murdered in Saudi Arabia for drug trafficking, were published after she departed Nigeria for the United Kingdom. She emphasized that she was at peace with God and said that the rumors did not affect her.
The actress also recalled how her reputation was damaged when it was revealed that she was serving food in a London eatery run by her elder Kike Oyelami, her sister. But Sola Sobowale added that the false reports came about because she frequently helped her sister at the restaurant in her spare time.
According to Sola Sobowale, the most damaging falsehood was the one that said she was slain for cocaine trafficking in Saudi Arabia after being apprehended. Sarcastically, she repeated the made-up narrative, claiming that she had been taken into custody, that her limbs had been removed, and that she had finally been slain.
The actress, who is well-known for her variety in film roles, emphasized that she had never been to Saudi Arabia and had no idea where it was on a map.
