Breaking: Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack Mastermind Apprehended by Police


The Nigeria Police Force said that it has apprehended Ibrahim Abdullahi, also known as Mande. He is thought to be the mastermind behind the train attack on March 29, 2022, the kidnapping and murder of Greenfield University students, and the numerous kidnappings that occurred along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

According to ACP Olumuyiwa  Adejobi, the Force PRO, Mande was apprehended alongside multiple other suspects.


The Force Public Relations Officer, who was parading the suspects at the Kaduna Police command headquarters on Thursday, stated that Mande was taken into custody along the Abuja-Kaduna Road flyover near the Rido Junction in the Chikun local government area on the basis of reliable information.


He clarified that the suspect has admitted to being the head of a kidnapping ring that terrorized the people of Kaduna and Abuja Expressway and was counted alongside infamous outlaws such as Bello Turji and Dogo Gide.


Additionally, on April 27, 2024, a few vigilante members detained and took to the police Auwal Ayuba, a 27-year-old Kubacha Town inhabitant who was allegedly a kidnapper.


Following a thorough investigation, the suspect admitted to being a part of the kidnapping gang led by infamous abductor Abdullahi Ibrahim, also known as Mande. Mande is currently being held by the police and is involved in multiple kidnappings in the Kubacha, Jere, and Katari axis, where numerous victims were taken hostage, including the kidnapping incident at Greenfield University and the train attack in Abuja.
