Residential neighborhoods in Ibeju-Lekki are submerged by water.

Following many days of intense rains, residential neighborhoods and key roadways in Lagos State's Ibeju-Lekki district have been inundated with floodwaters.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), residential areas in Ibeju-Lekki and other key places flooded as a result of Wednesday's prolonged downpour.

Epe, Eredo, Bogije, Labora, Abijon, Sangotedo, Awoyaya, and Ibeju-Lekki were among the places impacted.
According to some locals who spoke with NAN, the flooding was caused by rubbish being dumped carelessly in the area, blocking rivers.

A homeowner of Ibeju-Lekki's Labora neighborhood named Mr. Rasheed Ayobami said that his home was flooded because there was no working drainage system.
where he resides, in the new location.
He said that water damaged several of his possessions and filled his house.

"Too much water is entering my compound; my house is completely underwater.

In order to prevent floods, Arowosaye advised the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government to empty the drains and asked the community to stop putting rubbish into the drainage system going forward.

Additionally, he asked the Lagos State Government to expedite the completion of the road repairs in the Ibeju neighborhood of Sangotedo.

Mrs. Bola Fadugba bemoaned the impact of the rain and subsequent flooding in the Labora region.
"We are homeless because we can't sleep in the water at my new site because there is no drainage, which causes the water to run into residential homes," he said.

Seyi, another inhabitant Arowosaye bemoaned the city's drain blockage, which causes the Ibeju-Lekki Expressway to flood every year.

"I live in Labora, but my family and I do go to my younger sister's house in the Eputu area during the rainy season."

"My house is underwater because there is inadequate drainage in the surrounding area.

"The government needs to find a long-term solution to this ongoing flooding challenge because so many areas in the metropolis are also affected by flooding," the speaker stated.
According to NAN, because of current road restoration projects in the area, the water also damaged certain roads in the Abraham Adesanya, Awoyaya, Sangotedo, and Majek sections of the metropolis in Ibeju Lekki.

TEACHERS ARE BETTER THAN FARMERS

Here is a debate on the topic: *Moderator:* Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to today's debate on the topic "Teachers are better than farmers." We have two debaters, Uche and Nneoma, who will present their arguments for and against the topic. Let's begin with our first speaker, Uche. *Uche (in favor of the topic):* Thank you, Moderator. Teachers are the backbone of our society. They educate and shape the minds of our future leaders, innovators, and citizens. Without teachers, we would not have the doctors, engineers, and scientists who drive our economy and development. They play a vital role in shaping our culture and values. Teachers are better than farmers because they contribute more significantly to the overall development of society. *Nneoma (against the topic):* Thank you, Moderator. While teachers play a crucial role in education, farmers are the backbone of our economy. They provide the food that sustains us, and their work is essential to huma...
