A 28-kilometer toll road connecting Shasha Road to the airport is signed by LASG and FAAN.

 

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Lagos State Government and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to construct a 28-kilometer toll road. This agreement is being handled by the Office of Public-Private Partnerships and the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.


This planned route would connect Shasha route to the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway's airport toll gate.

A statement announcing this important collaboration was made public on the Lagos State Government's official Facebook page on Tuesday.

"The Lagos State Government has formed a partnership with the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria through the Office of Public-Private Partnerships and the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, marking a significant step towards enhancing infrastructure development." Nigeria (FAAN) by agreeing to a 28-kilometer road project's memorandum of understanding (MoU).
 
The chief representative of the government delegation, Mrs. Bukola Odoe, Special Adviser, Legal, to the Governor, Office of Public-Private Partnerships, delineated the principal goals of the MoU. According to her, the partnership intends to begin work on a 28-kilometer toll road that will run from Shasha Road to the airport toll located on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway.

In accordance with the agreement signed at the FAAN Annex Office, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Mrs. Odoe said, the State and Federal governments will work closely together through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to start extensive exploratory initiatives.

These projects lay the groundwork for a comprehensive land plan by completing feasibility studies, design, and soil testing. Nigeria (FAAN) by agreeing to a 28-kilometer road project's memorandum of understanding (MoU).

The effort, which aims to reduce traffic congestion along this crucial corridor, is in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's THEMES Plus agenda, the statement added. The Special Advisor to the Governor stated that after the project is completed, traffic problems will be significantly reduced, giving commuters and locals a great deal of relief.
 
Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, the Managing Director/CEO of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts amongst governmental levels and emphasized the significance that these efforts play in providing democratic advantages to the people of Lagos State.
 
She pointed out that everyone in Lagos would gain from the project, not just those living nearby. She also congratulated Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu for starting this important initiative.
