Actress and director Eniola Ajao of Nigeria has spoken out about the issue surrounding Bobrisky's recent acceptance of the "Best Dressed Female" award at the screening of her film "Ajakaju."
According to reports, a number of celebrities attended the Sunday premiere of her much awaited movie, "Ajanaku: Beast of Two Worlds."
To the astonishment of many, Bobrisky won the title of Best Dressed Female of the Night and a one million naira reward. Many participants displayed creative costumes.
Some attendees were not happy with this decision.
After Bobrisky's victory, a contentious dispute involving Toyin Abraham, Portable, Dayo Amusa, and other individuals became viral on social media.
The public argument between Femi Adebayo and the other parties involved further intensified the situation and Dayo Amusa, who took issue with the actor's endorsement of Bobrisky as the victor.
Eniola clarified in an interview with Arise News TV that choosing Bobrisky as the winner was a calculated choice meant to attract attention and advance her movie as part of a calculated marketing strategy.
She emphasized that Bobrisky's contentious image played a significant role in this choice, as it was her intention to increase publicity for her initiative by giving him the title of Best Dressed Female.
"It was just jokes," Ajao remarked. All we want to do is have fun. We want the film to be discussed. I made the decision with my team that it had to be in people's faces.
Thus, we made the decision to honor Bobrisky as the Best Dressed Female because he has always been a really contentious individual. People began chatting about it at the end of the day, although not everyone was pleased.
The person who gave the prize, Femi Adebayo, was called out by them. He was not one of the judges; he only delivered it. It wasn't his idea. Please refrain from criticizing him, Nigerians.
