According to Omoyele Sowore, a former African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) backed President Bola Tinubu's decision to raise energy rates, which would have severely impacted low-income individuals.
In addition, Sowore made fun of Obi's trip to Egypt to observe how electricity is generated and distributed there in advance of the general election in 2023.
Sowore asserted on Monday that Obi had only visited a switchboard in a single Egyptian power plant in a post on his X account.
"These people are just so stupid that they wake up and "Copy and paste" phrases from other countries," he remarked. One day, @PeterObi woke up and traveled to Egypt in this manner. He stated he traveled to discover how to produce electricity (he went to then went back to one power plant in Egypt's switchboard—that was it!).
"Now that fuel subsidies have been removed, he is here seeking to 'tax the rich,' as if the wealthy pay taxes and the electricity bill hike is not for the same rich and overfed, useless rich buccaneers.
"They aid their Uncle @officialAbat in destroying the lower class; as soon as the lower class is further demolished, they begin digging boreholes for them. DUMB Individuals!
How can you tax the wealthy who conceal their fortune in tax havens, by the way?
