In order to guarantee a bountiful harvest and enough food supply, rural farmers in the 58 wards of the district received 1,160 bags of fertilizer from Senator Kenneth Eze, the senator who represents the Ebonyi Central senatorial district in the National Assembly.
Sen. Eze, the head of the Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation, regretted that the recent statewide demonstration had impeded the movement of an additional load of fertilizer he had purchased from the depot in the North to the East.
During his annual constituency briefing, the senator who made the distribution gave the people the assurance that more fertilizer would soon arrive in the state and be distributed to them, ensuring that Ebonyi continues to be one of the states with the highest food production throughout the nation.
He reported that the local government of Ezza North LGA received 220 bags of fertilizer, Ezza South received another 220 bags, Ikwo received 400 bags, and the local government of Ishielu received 320 bags.
"To facilitate the transportation of the fertilizer to your various wards, I have allocated a sum of N10 million," he continued.
Senator Eze praised President Bola Tinubu for eliminating the fuel subsidy and added that doing so has freed up money needed for the federal government and the states to run efficiently.
He said that even if the subsidy's consequences could be difficult on the populace, the nation's residents would eventually see its overall benefits.
"The removal was a necessary step to stop the preventing the government's resource shortage. If the subsidies remained in place, states in particular would not have had the money to maintain their activities. Along with other national leaders, I implore the people to exercise patience," he declared.
He clarified that the current economic issues Nigeria is facing were not the result of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's government but rather had developed over a number of years.
