Suffering: Abuja Demonstrators Yell at the Minister While Police Launch Tear Gas in Eagle Square

When Ayodele Olawande, the minister of state for youth development, attempted to speak to angry #EndBadGovernance demonstrators on Thursday in Abuja's Eagle Square, he was yelled down.

The demonstrators prevented the Minister from addressing to them by yelling down Olawande and carrying on with the slogan "Hunger dey."

After calming the throng, the Minister declared that he was not trying to halt the demonstration and identified himself as a fellow Comrade who has participated in between one hundred and five hundred demonstrations in the past.

"You have the right to protest; I'm not here to fight you or to ask you not to do so. As mentioned, I have visited more than 100 500 protestors, he declared.

In addition, the Minister promised to speak with the Police about the use of tear gas canisters against the demonstrators.

Protesters, however, have stated that they will not accompany their fellow #EndBadGovernance demonstrators at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium. They cited the fact that a few days prior, a group of female pro-government demonstrators had utilized Eagle Square without any police intervention.

Additionally, there was a small group of demonstrators demonstrating in good spirits outside the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. They were prevented from entering the stadium due to a heavy military and police presence.

The demonstrators chose to relocate to Eagle Square after being denied entry into the National Stadium the details of the police's use of tear gas canisters directed at other demonstrators in Eagle Square.

On Thursday, a small group of demonstrators against national hardship who had assembled at Eagle Square in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to voice their opinions about the state of the country were dispersed by police officers stationed there using tear gas.

A small group of demonstrators were seen entering the area in defiance of the widely reported news that an FCT Court had earlier on Wednesday authorized Moshood Abiola National Stadium as the location of their action. However, security guards prevented people assembled at the stadium under the direction of lawyer Deji Adeyanju, who practices in Abuja, from entering the venue.

Teachers are the backbone of our society. They educate and shape the minds of our future leaders, innovators, and citizens. Without teachers, we would not have the doctors, engineers, and scientists who drive our economy and development. They play a vital role in shaping our culture and values. Teachers are better than farmers because they contribute more significantly to the overall development of society. *Nneoma (against the topic):* Thank you, Moderator. While teachers play a crucial role in education, farmers are the backbone of our economy. They provide the food that sustains us, and their work is essential to huma...
