Hunger: Yobe Protesters Call for Increased Security and the Return of Fuel Subsidy

In the Yobe State local government area of Potiskum, hundreds of young people participated in the nationwide protest on Thursday, calling on President Bola Tinubu to revoke the policy of subsidy removal.

During their nonviolent demonstration against the nation's purportedly corrupt government and starvation, the students voiced this demand.

According to one of the demonstrators, the purpose of the protest was to draw attention to problems facing the country. "We are demanding that the federal government address national insecurity, lower inflation, and reinstate fuel subsidies."

He outlined a difficult time for citizens who are unable to afford basic needs like food, medicine, and necessities, as a result of hyperinflation brought on by the devaluation of the naira and the elimination of fuel subsidies.

"Our people are suffering, hunger, insecurity, inflation of foods and others, we want government to consider our demands," protesters continued. "We want fuel subsidy back."

Another demonstrator, identified as Musa Abubakar, also addressed journalists, saying, "We are here to show our demands and to express our position to the government to look into our demands." We need peace in our land; this is our country," he declared.

The state capital of Potiskum, Gashua, Nguru, Gaidam, and Damaturu had a nonviolent demonstration on Thursday.

Teachers are the backbone of our society. They educate and shape the minds of our future leaders, innovators, and citizens. Without teachers, we would not have the doctors, engineers, and scientists who drive our economy and development. They play a vital role in shaping our culture and values. Teachers are better than farmers because they contribute more significantly to the overall development of society. *Nneoma (against the topic):* Thank you, Moderator. While teachers play a crucial role in education, farmers are the backbone of our economy. They provide the food that sustains us, and their work is essential to huma...
